This Field Engineer will support Enterprise gas and crude oil assets in the South/Central Texas area. Role will be based in the Houston, Texas area.

South/Central Texas is home to several of Enterprise's gas treating/processing plants, associated gas & NGL pipeline systems as well as a wide array of crude oil terminals/pipelines/tank farms. Enterprise currently has several engineers supporting these assets, with the tremendous growth being largely driven by the development of the Eagleford production additional engineering capacity is needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support Operations/Maintenance organizations when it comes to day to day operating activities, troubleshooting and maintenance work. Some refer to this as "Technical Support to Operations". Part of this would be to resolve ongoing issues, as well as uncovering and implementing optimization opportunities.
  • In the plant environment, ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management requirements (PHA's, MOC's, etc.). In regulated pipeline environment, ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Conduct projects for Commercial, Regulatory, Operation's needs, integrity upgrades, etc.

    a) Monetary amounts are generally less than 3 MM$.

    b) Ensure projects are designed and constructed in accordance with the Company's Engineering guidelines and specifications, industry codes and

    standards, and regulatory agency requirements to meet necessary functionality and performance requirements.

    c) Prepare cost estimates and schedules.

    d) Prepare bid packages for equipment and outside services.

    e) Monitor field construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications.

    f) Work with Operations personnel to safely start-up new facilities.
  • The split of work between gas/crude assets and surveillance/projects will change quite a bit over time.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. Mechanical or Chemical are preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of oil/gas industry work experience is required; additional experience is desired. Level of job responsibilities (and compensation) will be adjusted based on experience level.
  • The gas treating/processing may cover dehydration, CO2 removal, NGL removal via Cryogenic processes, product fractionation and will have some Process Safety Management (PSM) aspects. Experience in these areas will be a major plus.
  • Proven ability to effectively interface with a wide range of groups (Operations, Construction personnel, etc.). Hands-on experience in an operating environment is a major plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40%; role is likely to include a company truck for travel between various sites. Some of the travel will not require nights away from home, nights away might run 3-4 nights a month.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt and manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment. Must be a self starter, and able to work away from the main engineering support office downtown Houston.
